Quilts Today
Today, quilts are very popular. So popular that kids are making them in school. In Starkville, Mississippi, a fourth grade class made this quilt of images of their state. "We used quilt designs in math," said their teacher, Annette Smith. "The students wanted to make a real quilt, so each chose a symbol of MS [Mississippi], drew it, transferred the design to a cotton square, painted, quilted..." What else do you think might inspire people to make a quilt?
